“Most men have wondered, at one point or another, whether it’s possible for their penises to shrink. While this sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, unfortunately, this fear does have some truth to it”

“It’s very well-documented: Men are having children later into life,” said Dr. Mary Samplaski, a male-fertility specialist at Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California. “It’s become so much more mainstream.”

The higher the levels of phthalates — endocrine-disrupting compounds found in plastic bottles, laundry detergents, food and many personal care products — in a man’s sperm, the less likely a couple was to have high-quality embryos during an IVF procedure, researchers found.

The procedure is called “Scrotox” and it smooths out wrinkles in the scrotum.

Mary Samplaski, MD, of the USC Institute of Urology adds that: “inflammatory events and even diet may negatively impact semen parameters, sperm DNA health and even live birth rates. Recent data have identified a variety of factors…even a high fat diet. It is advisable for all men trying to achieve a pregnancy to take a multivitamin, as this may help to negate some of these negative environmental effects and help men to produce healthier sperm.”
